AEON Malaysia's Commitment to Sustainability Through Solar Energy
AEON Malaysia, a major player in the retail industry, is leading the way in sustainability by integrating solar energy into its operations. Partnering with GSPARX, AEON is working towards achieving its sustainability goals by installing solar PV systems equipped with Huawei Smart PV inverters across its retails in Malaysia.
With a total capacity of 78MW, the project is set to produce 99MWh of solar energy annually. This clean energy generation is expected to offset over 70,000 tons of carbon dioxide every year, significantly contributing to Malaysia's National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) and the nation's ambition to reach net-zero emissions by 2050.
In line with AEON's commitment to sustainability, the project is structured as a zero-capex initiative, allowing the company to benefit from long-term savings on electricity costs. The installation was fully funded by GSPARX, providing the company with a seamless transition to solar energy while retaining the financial benefit of reduced energy expenditure. This strategic partnership ensures that AEON's electricity bills will decrease significantly over the years.
One of the standout features of the project is the use of AEON's parking lot rooftops, which have been transformed into solar power hubs. This innovative approach ensures maximum solar coverage, capturing the sun's energy while minimizing the use of valuable land space. By choosing Huawei's Smart PV inverters for the solar PV systems, AEON ensures high efficiency, reliability, and long-term performance, further supporting its commitment to the environment.
