Huawei launches new SmartPV solution, Fusionsolar Residential Luna 2.0, into Nigerian market

[Lagos, Nigeria. January 16, 2024] Leading global vendor of digital power products and solutions, Huawei, has introduced its new solar system solution to the Nigerian market. The product, Fusionsolar Residential Luna 2.0, is built in three categories for residential, Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMME), and companies.

Speaking during the launch of the product in Lagos on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, the President, Huawei Digital Power Sub-Saharan Africa Region, Xia Hesheng, noted that the energy industry has shifted from natural resources to technological innovation, giving rise to rapid growth for the solar industry.

Hesheng explained that the company has developed solar products for Nigeria to bridge the power gap or electricity deficits encountered in various homes and businesses.

According to him, Huawei is committed to giving Nigerians easy access to power supply to boost the economy.

In his remarks, the Vice President, Huawei Digital Power Sub-Saharan Africa Region, Nick Lusson, who delivered a presentation on the unique features of the new product, stated that the solar solution has been built and designed in three different classes to cater to customers' needs based on their energy usage.

According to Lusson, the Fusionsolar residential Luna 2.0 comes in three different scopes, and these include 5 kW with 5 kWh battery capacity, 5 kW with 10 kWh capacity, and 5 kW with 15 kWh.

He disclosed that the Smart PV solution offers stable and reliable power while supporting seamless on-grid/off-grid switchover. He explained further that the product launched in Nigeria is built in line with global standards, adding that it is built with high aesthetic innovation, leading intelligence, and is extremely safe to use.

Lusson said the solar solution is a one-stop solution that is extremely reliable and easy to install with a 10-year replacement warranty.

"Its inverter has electromagnetic compatibility that meets national standards. Apart from that, the solution has SmartDesign 2.0, an online tool that allows installers to create a PV system with the 3D modeling function in order to provide a better experience and spot business success.

The Fusionsolar Residential Luna 2.0 also has an elegant and sleek design – it has no fuse, no LCD, and no buttons compared to other brands. The solar solution also has an intelligent monitoring and management system, which helps to ensure less downtime and better return on investment,” he said.

Also speaking at the event, Huawei Digital Power Partner & Ecosystem Development Manager, Olajide Aminu, noted that the company is willing and ready to support installers by helping them build capabilities for after-sales services through continuous training.

Aminu explained the criteria and conditions that are to be fulfilled for prospective and current distributors of Huawei products to become full partners of the company in Nigeria.

According to him, the terms and policy include commitment and the volume of sales within a particular period, among others.

He also urged prospective and current installers of the Solar product to leverage the free training opportunities provided by the company, in order to qualify as certified installers, adding that Huawei is the first and only brand to offer incentive for all certified installer sales in Nigeria.

A representative of the valued partner, Solar Shop Ltd, who also doubles as the General Manager, Mrs. Esther Nwankwo, attested to Huawei's support for its partners. Nwankwo said her company has been providing seamless solar solutions to Nigerian customers leveraging Huawei products.

Also speaking at the occasion, a representative of one of the valued partner, OOLU Nigeria, Monica Uduku, stated that doing business with Huawei has been a worthwhile experience.

Uduku expressed optimism that the new product would record huge acceptance in the market, given the demand for alternative energy solutions and some of its benefits.

The event was witnessed by dealers, trade partners, and installers who expressed appreciation to the management of Huawei for their renewed commitment to improving access to the power supply in Nigeria through technological innovations.
