A Digital Twin and Unified Management: Smart O&M Boosts Moro

Digital DEWA — the digital arm of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (PJSC), is tasked with forging ahead, innovating DEWA's digital transformation, making DEWA the world’s first digital utility, using autonomous systems for renewable energy and storage, expansion in AI adoption, and providing digital services. the ultimate ambition is to help create a new digital future for Dubai as a whole.

As a subsidiary of Digital DEWA, Moro Hub — established in 2018, provides hosting and data storage services and digital services management in the cloud. It offers global, standardized services and a range of solutions, all to the highest quality, enhancing the experience for its customers. But Moro Hub doesn't settle for that and is actively exploring more intelligent and more efficient ways to run its operations, seeking to boost customer satisfaction as a result.

Digital and Intelligent Unified Platform Management

Huawei's Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) solution — iManager NetEco6000 — provides digital and intelligent management for data center O&M. It supports access from multiple data center sites and log in from multiple users. iManager NetEco6000 integrates a range of advanced technologies such as 3D mapping, AI, and the Internet of Things (IoT), to provide digital visualization, automatic O&M, and intelligent operations. Together, these technologies enable far more efficient device management as well as iCooling@AI energy saving, reducing Operating Expenditure (OPEX) and maximizing data center value.

Huawei's Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) solution

The 3D graphical interface displays a panoramic view of data center operations and effectively implements digital twin management, where the digital twin is a real-time, virtual map of all live operations. With running status globally visible and data parameters clearly displayed, the digital management of data center infrastructure covers device, capacity, and temperature management as well as intelligent evaluation of device health and monitoring of resource utilization. Based on the topology of the power distribution and cooling systems, iManager NetEco6000 intelligently analyzes infrastructure to locate the root cause of device failures, slashing equipment downtime and guaranteeing reliable operations in the equipment room, optimizing the customer experience as a result. Predictive maintenance, intelligent fault analysis, and intelligent parameter verification all greatly improve automated O&M for data centers, ensuring zero service interruptions. And all of this has helped Moro Hub improve its Service Level Agreement (SLA) commitments.

Huawei's DCIM solution centrally manages multiple, physically dispersed data centers. Indeed, with iManager NetEco6000, Moro Hub doesn't only manage its own data centers, but also the third-party data centers entrusted to it by other organizations. geographically scattered data centers can all be operated and managed on the same, unified platform. And, looking to the future, Moro Hub now has the infrastructure in place to add additional data centers to its management platform, such is its flexibility.

Huawei's iManager NetEco6000 is based on a multi-user platform and different permissions are easily set for customers, with users logging in to the management platform at their appropriate level. We can view the running status, remaining capacity, and energy efficiency of their devices, providing better user experience.

Mohammad Bin Sulaiman, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Moro Hub, said: "We have been impressed by the O&M efficiency and resource utilization advantages of iManager NetEco6000. It not only provides simplified device management and access to relevant data, but also maximizes data center value from the service perspective. Huawei's DCIM greatly improves data center automated O&M and has helped Moro Hub reduce O&M labor costs, improving routine O&M quality and efficiency and, with that, significantly improving customer satisfaction. In addition, with the trend of carbon neutrality, people increasingly concerned about energy efficiency in the data centers they use, they are eager to learn more about real-time performance metrics. iManager NetEco6000 delivers this information to them, and that helps Moro Hub to attract more customers."
