Harvesting Sunshine From the Roof of the World: How Naidong PV Plant Lights Up the Tibetan Plateau

The Huadian Naidong PV and ESS Plant is the highest-altitude photovoltaic project in Tibet. Built in an environment defined by extreme elevation, oxygen scarcity, strong winds, and severe cold, the station demands exceptional reliability and safety from every piece of equipment. Real-world tests at high altitudes prove that Huawei inverters meet all design efficiency standards, operating safely and reliably under such extreme conditions. The station generates 245 million kWh of electricity annually—enough to power approximately 54,000 households for a full year.
