Building a High-Quality Industry Ecosystem | Huawei DriveONE & Smart Charging Network Launch New Strategies and Products

Apr 22, 2025

[Shanghai, China, April 22, 2025] The 2025 Huawei DriveONE & Smart Charging Network Strategy and Product Launch was successfully held. At the event, Huawei released the "10 km Range per kWh for Every Vehicle Model and Advanced Motion Safety Features" strategy and megawatt charging solution, and held the signing ceremony for the megawatt charging network for heavy goods vehicles (HGVs). The event was attended by automakers, charge point operators (CPOs) and partners, industry associations, and government organizations. They gathered together to celebrate the launch of Huawei DriveONE & Smart Charging Network strategies and products and build a high-quality industry ecosystem.

Hou Jinlong, Director of the Board of Huawei, President of Huawei Digital Power, delivered a speech titled "Driving Technological Innovation, Prioritizing Quality, Collaborating with the Ecosystem, and Accelerating Vehicle Electrification," and interpreted the electric mobility strategy. Centered on "providing safe and comfortable driving experience for electric vehicles (EVs)" and "ensuring high-quality charging anywhere and making charging as fast as refueling," Huawei Digital Power focuses on technologies and products, prioritizes quality, and coordinates on-board and off-board systems to accelerate vehicle electrification.

Hou Jinlong stated that "Huawei Digital Power prioritizes quality and works with customers and partners to build a win-win ecosystem and accelerate the high-quality development of the industry by leveraging innovative technologies such as all-scenario grid forming and PV+ESS+Charger integration."

At the event, Wang Chao, President of eMobility Product Line, Huawei Digital Power, delivered a speech titled "10 km Range per kWh for Every Vehicle Model and Advanced Motion Safety Features" and explained the developments and strategies of Huawei DriveONE on range efficiency and motion domain control.

According to Wang Chao, high range efficiency is a key indicator of vehicle quality. In the phase of range efficiency 1.0, the range efficiency was improved by innovating single-point technologies and increasing battery capacity. In the phase of range efficiency 2.0, vehicles had a higher energy efficiency thanks to the improvement in the factors that affect the driving range of vehicles. In the coming phase of range efficiency 3.0 of 10 km range per kWh, EVs will have a range efficiency and charging speed equal to fuel vehicle, making EV owners enjoy a charging experience with the same speed and frequency as refueling.

The motion domain is divided into three phases by instinctive safety, redundancy safety, and all-domain safety. In phase 1.0, the motion domain was fully electrified, and components were evolved from centralized control to distributed control, enhancing the power sources and braking safety for vehicles. In phase 2.0, redundant components made driving safer and local closed-loop management reduced the response time of components, enabling quick braking, collision prevention, and stable driving. In the following phase 3.0, vehicle control will adopt a converged architecture, and the vehicle control mode under the traditional driving mindset will be revolutionized.

Wang Chao stated that Huawei DriveONE has achieved "12 km range per kWh" in the joint range efficiency test for A-segment vehicles carried out by Huawei and multiple automakers. Additionally, Huawei DriveONE is working with automakers to promote the continuous upgrade of convergent experience in the motion domain. Huawei DriveONE has remained committed to contributing to the competitive enhancement of the EV industry and better EV quality for automakers using its industry-leading core technologies.

Bob He, Vice President of Huawei Digital Power and President of Data Center Facility & Critical Power Product Line, Huawei Digital Power, delivered a speech titled "Embracing the New Era of Ultra-fast Charging, Jointly Charging the Road Ahead." He demonstrated Huawei Digital Power's substantial achievements in charging infrastructure, a milestone from "1 km range by 1-second charge*" for passenger vehicles to "100 km range by 5-minute charge*" for electric HGVs.

Bob He stated that the EV industry is booming and Huawei Digital Power has been following the vision of "jointly charging the road ahead" since it released the Huawei FusionCharge Solution 2 years ago. Up to now, Huawei Digital Power, in cooperation with customers and partners, has deployed high-quality ultra-fast charging networks along over 50 highways in more than 130 counties, 200 cities, and 31 provincial-level administrative districts in China. It has deployed ultra-fast chargers along key highways such as the G318 Highway and starts to expand the networks to the rest of the world. Huawei FusionCharge Solution impresses owners of electric passenger vehicles with the concept of "1 km range by 1-second charge*" and high-quality and convenient charging experience. It leads the industry towards high quality development, ensures high revenue to partners with high quality, and provides better station construction experience through continuous upgrade.

With the advancement in vehicle electrification, electric HGVs will experience explosive growth. At the event, Huawei launched the megawatt charging solution, the industry's first 2400 A fully liquid-cooled megawatt charging solution that supports stable output and achieves "100 km range by 5-minute charge*." With continuous and stable 2400 A output, Huawei's megawatt charging solution has won the industry's first megawatt charging certification by the China Automotive Technology and Research Center. It is the only "15-minute" charging solution for HGVs in the industry. The full liquid cooling design features strong adaptation capabilities to extreme logistics environments. Additionally, the solution can improve the transportation efficiency by 15%, recouping cost of one vehicle in 3 years for HGV owners and bringing optimal benefits to CPOs. Huawei Digital Power has worked with its peers to build a unified electrified logistics network in an effort to promote HGV electrification. Lin-gang Strong Transportation Station 1, a demonstration project of Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission will be officially launched. Multiple projects in Tianjin, Dongguan, Chongqing, Sichuan, Linyi, and Xinjiang are also under construction. By expanding electrification of logistics from short-distance scenarios to medium- and long-distance goods transportation scenarios, we will usher in a new era of electrified logistics.
