[Singapore, October 10, 2024] Data Center World Asia, a technology event, celebrated its 10th anniversary on October 9-10, 2024, held at Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Center. Huawei Digital Power showcased a comprehensive data center facilities solution. Highlights included the PowerPOD 3.0, an integrated power supply solution that features footprint-saving, power-saving, time-saving, and worry-free; SmartLi, a highly reliable lithium battery solution with 10-layer protection for five levels (cells, modules, packs, cabinets, and system); an air-liquid hybrid cooling solution with Cooling Distribution Unit (CDU) and Indirect Evaporative Cooling that achieves zero cooling interruption and flexibly meets various servers cooling requirements; and the FusionDC1000C, a prefabricated modular data center solution that integrates power supply, efficient cooling and smart O&M.

Sanjay Kumar Sainani, Global CTO and SVP at Huawei Digital Power, delivered a keynote on innovations supporting the development of sustainable data centers as we embraced the Intelligent Computing Era. His topic is “Embrace the Intelligent Computing Era, Power the Digital Era Forward” stated that “In the intelligent era of computing, we will require a holistic design approach from chip to rack to building that allows standardized solutions for power & cooling that are reliable, serviceable & suitable for large scale deployments.”

Foo Fang Yong, President of Huawei Data Center Facility and Critical Power Business APAC, conducted a keynote session titled “Power the AI Computing Era Forward. In his presentation, he highlighted the transformative potential of AI in enhancing operational efficiency and driving sustainability, stating, “With the rapid implementation of AIGC applications, the demand for high performance data centers increases sharply. This shift presents multiple challenges, including security & safety, carbon footprint, and stringent time-to-market. Focusing on the four core principles of product innovation, flexible cooling, green power and ultimate reliability, Huawei is investing relentlessly to build up a symbiotic ecosystem to meet the high requirements of AI-DC infrastructure in the intelligent computing era.”

A panel discussion titled "APAC Data Centers: Outpacing the World or Struggling to Keep Up?" was moderated by James Murphy, Managing Director of DC Byte APAC. The panel featured industry leaders, including Foo Fang Yong, President of Huawei Data Center Facility and Critical Power Business APAC; Mozan Totani, Senior Vice President of Data Center Capacity Delivery at APJC, ADA Infrastructure; Matthew Benic, Head of Commercial for Keppel's Data Centers & Networks Division, Sridhar Pinnapureddy, Founder and CEO of CtrlS Datacenters and Toby Stapleton, Vice President of Construction of NTT DATA. The discussion explored the current state of data centers in the APAC region, examining challenges and opportunities for growth, and provided valuable insights into the strategies necessary to ensure that the region remains competitive in the global landscape.
