Hou Jinlong, Director of the Board of Huawei and President of Huawei Digital Power, delivered the opening speech at the summit. He shared four insights on architectural innovation and systematic design to address AIDC construction challenges such as power acquisition, power quality, rack power supply and heat dissipation, and engineering delivery.

First, innovative power architecture and liquid cooling ensure stable power supply and efficient heat dissipation, delivering comprehensive reliability and efficiency. Second, a multi-layer hybrid energy storage system absorbs local power fluctuations, enhancing AIDC power quality and grid-friendliness. Third, electricity-compute synergy and supply-consumption interaction enable AIDCs to transform from rigid loads to an integral part of the new power system. Fourth, construction mode innovation and modular, prefabricated, and product-based delivery significantly shorten the lead time.

Mr. Hou also emphasized that maximizing tokens per watt and minimizing costs per token will be the core competitiveness of compute factories. Huawei Digital Power is committed to becoming a leader in AIDC innovation and a long-term, trusted strategic partner. It will work with global customers and partners to drive continuous innovation and prosperity in the AIDC industry.

Huawei Grid-Interactive AIDC Solution Unveiled

Bob He, Vice President of Huawei Digital Power

Bob He, Vice President of Huawei Digital Power, stated at the summit that as token demand explodes, AI compute is rapidly evolving toward high density and hyperscale, and AIDC is scaling up from hundreds of megawatts to gigawatts. As the share of renewable energy continues to grow, the power grid exhibits stronger features of power electronics. Coupled with the rapid and severe power fluctuations of AI workloads, compute and energy infrastructure are no longer decoupled but deeply coordinated. By leveraging "3+1" innovations, Huawei builds a grid-interactive AIDC solution that is highly reliable, energy-efficient, fast to deliver, and grid-friendly to maximize tokens per watt.

In the watt domain, Huawei proposes a future-oriented MIMO power supply architecture. This architecture enables flexible access of multiple upstream energy sources and flexible adaptation of downstream diversified compute through multi-source input, multi-mode output, and multi-level energy storage coordination. It also implements hierarchical adjustment for AI workloads that fluctuate across multiple time scales, from microseconds to hours. To address industry challenges, Huawei has launched the grid-interactive AIDC 1.0 solution. By integrating grid-friendly UPS, intelligent lithium batteries, and grid-forming energy storage systems, the solution enables AIDC to adapt to and support the power grid while smoothing AI workload fluctuations.

At the event, Huawei unveiled multiple new products tailored for AIDC. Huawei's Taishan UPS delivers a capacity of 1280 kVA in a single cabinet and a dual-conversion efficiency of up to 98%, achieving the highest density and efficiency in the industry. It is also the industry's first single-cabinet MW-level UPS. Huawei's Hengshan DC UPS is the first software-defined DC UPS, with a single hardware platform supporting multiple DC voltage systems, including 270V, 400V, and 800V, enabling flexible evolution for diverse compute architectures. PowerPOD 5.0 reduces the footprint by 40% and shortens the lead time from seven days to just three days through component-level innovation and product development. The SmartLi 5.0 boosts energy storage density, workload smoothing, and safety capabilities, and is ready for evolving toward the 800V HVDC architecture. The grid-forming energy storage system LUNA2000 delivers enhanced weak-grid support, AI load smoothing, and multi-source coordination at the campus level. Huawei's two major AIDC UPS series, UPS5000-E and UPS5000-H, have also completed the field test of power grid wideband impedance, making UPS a reliable and grid-friendly power supply system.

In the heat field, Huawei has launched an AI-powered liquid cooling system, driving liquid cooling to evolve from traditional coolant distribution units (CDU) to thermal management units (TMU). The TMU not only delivers cooling capacity, but also functions as the thermal controller for the liquid cooling system. It uses AI to detect micro leaks, predict the health of working fluids, and facilitate predictive maintenance. Huawei's TMU is natively compatible with Ascend servers. Through cooling-electricity coordination, it enables the cooling system to quickly respond to changes in compute workloads, maximizing the computing performance.

According to Mr. He, Huawei's unique advantage lies in its end-to-end energy and full-stack AI capabilities. Horizontally, Huawei extends from green energy, power grids, and energy storage to power supply, thermal management, and chips. Vertically, Huawei integrates infrastructure, compute, models, and AI applications. Starting with compute, Huawei delivers joint design, simulation, verification, and system-level optimization. Looking ahead, Huawei will continue to innovate and collaborate openly with customers and industry partners to drive the evolution of grid-interactive AIDC. The ultimate mission is to maximize tokens per watt and shape the future of the AIDC industry.

Booming AI has brought about a sharp increase in tokens, posing higher requirements on AI infrastructure. Xia Qin, Chief Expert in Huawei Computing Strategy Planning, noted that AIDC is evolving toward an integrated, coordinated compute-network-storage architecture, and energy is fundamental to infrastructure. An energy system that is highly reliable, energy-efficient, and rapidly deployable allows hyperscale AI compute clusters to operate reliably, establishing a solid foundation for large-scale training and inference in the agentic era.

Traditional data centers have limited interaction with the power grid. However, AI workloads are prone to high-frequency changes, which can easily cause grid operation issues such as grid disconnection and unstable wideband oscillation. Josh Chen, Founder & Chairman of VNET Group, stated that power sources, campuses, and buildings can be redefined to enable mutual support among power sources, scheduling within campuses, and DC power supply for buildings. This will create a new power system centered on direct green power connection and active microgrids, ensuring reliable and stable power supply for GW-level AIDC. In this way, green DC power will be delivered across the world, illuminating the future of granular intelligence.

Lin Hai, General Manager of Intelligent Computing Center, SenseCore Business Group at SenseTime, elaborated on the efficiency evolution of SenseTime intelligent computing from PUE to TPW at the summit. According to Mr. Lin, SenseCore is driving the transformation of IDC from energy efficiency management centered on power usage effectiveness (PUE) to end-to-end efficiency management centered on tokens per watt (TPW). TPW directly connects power consumption with token output, covering the entire chain from power plants and grids to IDC rack services, computing cloud services, and model services. It is a more accurate efficiency metric that reflects the essence of AI production. Through end-to-end optimization, SenseCore has improved the TPW by 80%. The SenseTime AIDC in Lingang is the first intelligent computing center in the industry to receive the 5A certification of compute-power synergy from China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT).
